Friday's Quote of the Day

"It's not about the past, it's not about the journey; it's about the NOW. It's about what you do with what you have, about being at peace with yourself, and about giving everything you've got to get where you want to be. That's the true definition of success."  Leonard Frincu

Have a great day and safe weekend :-)

Be the Change You Want to See In the World

Be the change you want to see in the world -Mahatma Gandhi

This is one of my favorite quotes. I get so tired of hearing people complain about what's going on in the world today and may not be doing a darn thing to change it. If you're not going to work towards change, shut up and accept things as they are. You may not be able to change everything but at least you can start with yourself. Work on yourself first before you try working on anything else. You can never tell someone to do something you're not doing.

Keep this in mind and have a great day!

Walking in my Shoes

Walking in my shoes is no easy task. Be yourself, no one can be you any better than you. Be thankful for what you have as there is always someone in a worse situation. It is my opinion that you be thankful for who you are, be thankful for what you have and be thankful for where you are in life. Once you start to be thankful over the things you have, God will supply you with more. We're placed in certain situations for a reason and they all come together for our good. Take the tools you have and work with them. That's why you have them...duuuhhh!!!

Right now, I'm being thankful that my needs are being met. At this point, I could really care less about my wants. I'm more concerned with my needs being met. I tell myself all the time, "I'm doing what I have to do now, so I can do what I want to do later." It's well worth the sacrifice and I respect and appreciate the process. My foundation will be successfully up and running sooner than I think. I work too hard for it to fall through so I know it's on it's way.

Now it's back to researching grants for my foundation. Hey, where is my grant writer?! Oh I forgot, he's on vacation so I won't bother him :-) Have a great and productive day everyone!

I Refuse to Quit!

My apologies for leaving my readers for such a long time....I been gone but I'm back now!

I'm hopeful of great things. Though I've been through a lot, I refuse to quit. Though I continue to struggle to get to the top, I refuse to quit. Yeah I've ran up on a couple of obstacles that I must overcome. I'm trying to figure out if I should go right, go left, go up under them, go over them or go through them in order to just get over it. I'm praying God directs my path as he always does. I know he's not going to leave me. No one understands how hard I work but me. I often times feel like I'm the only one really, I mean REALLY working hard to get this non-profit organization off the ground. I guess because it's more passionate to me than to anyone else, I ought to expect that. No matter what, I refuse to quit.

I really feel Monica on her song, Still Standing, "I been through the storm, had dirt on my name, I'm still holding on, champion of the game. They say, whatever don't kill you, make you stronger, well I must be the world's strongest woman." She wrote this song for women like me. If I were a song writer, I probably would have wrote a song very similar because I can really, really relate. Anytime I'm going through something, I always listen to this song. This is one of my inspiration songs that keeps me going.

I'm on the up and up and I will not, I repeat, I will not give up! I was made for this. :-)

A business partner of mine, Greg Lewis, just recently published his book. I haven't purchased it yet but I've heard it's a MUST READ. Be sure to grab your copy. Click the link to purchase.
