Memorial Day

Did you know Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day? In case you didn't know, Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. Some people celebrate the fact that they have a long weekend, some people associate Memorial Day with partying like Rock Stars on South Beach. It's more to Memorial Day than that. Originally, Memorial Day was celebrated in remembrance of soldiers fighting in the Civil War. Years later, Memorial Day began to be celebrated in remembrance of soldiers who fought in any war. Hats off to all soldiers! While you're chilaxin on South Beach, taking shots of Patron, enjoying that extra day off, remember the reason we celebrate Memorial Day. Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day everyone!

HIM

So it's been a while since I've spoken to him. I've been wondering how he's been doing. I couldn't find it in myself to pick up the phone and call so I sent him an email the other day. He said he was doing well. I browsed his website yesterday and I am very proud of him and accomplishments. I still feel that together we can and sometimes we will still take over the world. I said to myself, "Self, this should be your man. Yall can take over the world with your ambitions together." Sometimes I feel that someday, somewhere, along this journey, we will meet up again and make up for all the time that has been lost. *sigh*

I. Miss. Him. I. Still. Love. Him. But. Deep. Down. Inside. I. Know. I. Cant. Love. Him. Anymore.

I'm feeling you Keri!

Special Thanks

I would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to all those that have supported me along my journey thus far. I know sometimes you don't know it's the small things that you do for me that I really appreciate. Yesterday, I didn't have any money to eat at work and when one of my friends invited me to lunch and he paid, I was very appreciative. I said thank you about five times. I want you all to know that you touch me in different ways. Whether it has been giving me or lending me money, a donation to my foundation, a text telling me to read a certain Bible scripture, an email with a quote of the day, helping me upgrade my blog, a phone call to check on me, doing my hair for free, cutting my brother's hair for free, taking my brother to complete community service hours, referring my companies to other individuals, this truly means a lot to me. I can go on and on about the things you all have done for me. I can't say thank you enough.

I am so glad that God has blessed me with friends and family that really care and support me in all that I do. I know a lot of you also look up to me for motivation and inspiration but I need to hear it from others too. I've come a long way; however, I still have quite a ways to go. I know God is taking care of me. I'm always sowing seeds in others' lives so I know God is gonna give it all back to me 100 fold. No I don't do the things I do because I look for something in return, I do things because I find it in my heart to help people in any way that I can because God has continued to keep me. I'm glad you all see the bigger picture in my life and are helping me get where I'm going and are continuing to help me as I work my way up. Most of you helping me are also working your way up and we're building on each other. *Screaming* AHHHHH.....you all don't know how much you mean to me and how I appreciate all of you. You can hold me to this or you don't have to but I'm gonna continue being a blessing to you and when I blow up, I'm coming back for you so get ready. My blessings are gonna overtake me and it's gonna be more than I can receive so of course it's gonna overflow into your lives. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You and....I Love You all! Peace and Blessings be with you. :-)

Budgeting

I'm proud of myself. I created a budget today for myself and I've never created a budget, EVER (shame on me). Tell the truth, shame the devil. Lately, I've been overdrawing my bank account like crazy. I wasn't balancing my checkbook and I haven't been using a monthly budget. I was swiping my debit card as if I didn't know my account would eventually reach zero or a negative balance. I was spending, spending, spending. Needless to say, I don't have money to waste. I can't afford to get overdraft fees. My budget is already in the red just by including all necessities with no entertainment. I've decided to be more responsible, more disciplined and stop thinking I need everything I see. Hold me to this, I'm gonna start being more frugal, saving and investing money. I don't need a new outfit every time I attend an event. I have enough clothes, enough shoes and enough purses to really mix & match some things. You're gonna see more pics via TwitPic and/or Facebook with some of the say outfits and I don't care. I'm gonna now start saving, investing more and spending wisely.

I'm blogging about this to tell you all (my readers) how important it is to budget and save money. No, we do not need everything we see in the store nor do we need everything we see someone else with. It's better to be prepared for a rainy day than to have all the Gucci's, Louie's, Louboutins, and things of that sort in your closet. At the end of the day, what's their value? Do they bring you back a high return? If there were an emergency, a year later, can you pull money out of it as you do a mutual fund, stock or a CD? I think not. Let's think smart.

Create a budget for yourself (if you haven't already done so) and keep an accurate balance of your checkbook. We do not want to overspend. I used to work at Bank of America when I was in college and they always told us "Overdrafts are how you receive your paycheck. Don't allow customers to ask you to credit their overdrafts."

Again I say, lets think smart!

Quote of the Day

The future depends on what we do in the present. - Mahatma Gandhi

What we do now, will determine what will happen later. Our future is in our hands and we must work hard to stay on the right path. We have no one to blame but ourselves if we don't get out of life what we're working towards. No complaining, just do what you have to do to get where you wanna be. Create short and long term goals and work towards those goals no matter how hard it may seem. Kanye West stated that giving up is way harder than trying and I most certainly agree. Don't ever give up on something you're working so hard for. Many won't understand but guess what? It's not for them to understand. They'll understand later when they see you rolling in those dollars! Ching, Ching $$$

With that being said, have a great day and I hope this has been a wonderful start to your beautiful day! :-)

RIP....Love

There comes a time where you get tired of giving and not receiving, where you feel like you putting more into a relationship than what you're getting out. You're tired of going down a one way street.
There comes a time where you get tired of crying yourself to sleep. You're sad because things aren't going the way you expect. You've been heartbroken.
There comes a time where you feel like love has given up on you.
There a comes a time where you question yourself,
"Am I not good enough?"
"Why me?"
"When will this end?"
There comes a time where you meet someone, like them for a little, fall in love and they break your heart.
There comes a time where your partner doesn't want what you want.
There comes a time where you've been left with no closure.
There comes a time where you feel you've done all you can do.
There comes a time where you're just completely tired and you say....RIP Love

Again, I'm letting go and allowing God to have his way. He will bring to me what it's right for me. That is all.

Quote of the Day

We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action. (Frank Tibolt)

Start Strong

It takes only a few moments plus a little bit of energy and intention to get your day and week off to a positive, productive start and the way you start your week will determine how the entire week goes for you.At the beginning of the day, put the very best of yourself into it. That small effort will continue to pay as the day & week progresses .Sure, you may not feel like being positive right off the bat. But if you wait for encouragement to come to you, then you might be waiting all day and eventually your week will be over. Instead, be the encouragement you're looking for. Be the instigator of your own successful day.You can be the positive influence you are waiting for. You can be the reason this day starts on an upbeat note. The first few minutes of each day are filled with opportunity. Choose to start strong, and that strength will flow throughout the day and it's likely that your week will end strong.

God Knew

Many of us (including myself) always questions God and wonders why do we go through the things we go through.
Here goes to another long topic and this one is gonna make you think.

Born on a hot summer day, in August, 1983, God knew what he was doing when he created....Makeva Sekenya Harold.

Thought of the Day...The Bottom Line

FACE IT, nobody owes you a living.

What you achieve, or fail to achieve in your lifetime

Is directly related to what you do or fail to do.

No one chooses his parent or childhood,

But you can choose your own direction.

Everyone has problems and obstacles to overcome,

But that too is relative to each individual.

NOTHING IS CARVED IN STONE!

You can change anything in your life

If you want to badly enough.

Excuses are for losers! Those who take responsibility for their actions

Are the real winners in life.

Winners meet life challenges head on

Knowing there are guarantees, and give it all they've got

And never think it's too late or too early to begin.

Time plays no favorites

And will pass whether you act or not.

Take control of your LIFE

Dare to Dream and take risks.......

Compete!

If you aren't willing to work for your goals

Don't expect others to.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

Release

I've decided to just release. Stop being so analytical. I'm a very organized person that has to know everything about everything. I never could go with the flow. Actually, I never tried to go with the flow. I've decided to do something different and see what the results will be. In order to expect something different, you must do something different.
