I'm that girl who isn't afraid of failing. I'm that girl that will try 1,000 different things that probably didn't work and would still be willing to try 1,001 more times. I don't quit. I won't give up. Regardless of what it looks like, I still believe. My name is Makeva Harold....Jenkins, I am ME!

Your Dreams
Your dreams are your dreams and that's okay. Did you know that God's dreams are not your dreams and his dreams for YOUR life are usually bigger than yours?
On Friday night, I was bored. I started digging in my storage looking for old pictures that I captured of clients when I used to do hair. Yes! I used to do hair in high school and college. I didn't find any of the pictures but I stumbled across my senior memory book. There was a place titled "Dreams & Goals." As I read that section, I was smiling but shocked at the same time. I'm a very ambitious person and I couldn't believe that I didn't/did accomplish those goals that I had listed. I know that God has something better for me. I don't know what THAT may be but I know it's better.
Trying not to sneeze from the dust, the page read, "I want to be an entrepreneur Cosmetologist doing hair AND nails in my own hair salon. The car I will own is an Acura, I will own a three bedroom home and marry and have ONE child. I'm literally laughing out loud. I didn't get an Acura (Yet anyway) Not sure if I even want an Acura anymore. I didn't go to school for Cosmetology. I ended up getting a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and a Master's in Social Work (neither am I using right now nor do I have the desire to do so.) I am an entrepreneur but unsure on my direction. I am married with not ONE but TWO beautiful and smart children.
See!!! God blessed me abundantly. His dreams for me were/are bigger than my own. What I'm trying to figure out now is what road to take; do I go left or right. Prior to me reading that page in my senior memory book, I told my husband I was considering going to hair school BUT I'm not sure what I want to do. I stopped doing hair a long time ago because I wasn't passionate about it. I also stopped doing social work because I started feeling overwhelmed and burned out.
God's dreams for me are bigger than my own and all I can do is pray for his direction and understanding. If anyone is reading this and may be in the same boat, my suggestion is to pray. God knows better than you/I do. Love you lots!!!
Thanks for reading. Peace and blessings :)

My Reaping Season Is Near, I mean HERE!
My reaping season is near here. God promised me that if I walked upright, no good thing would he withhold from me. I have paid my tithes through good times and through bad times. Things are really turning around. I have constant reminders that keep me reminded about how far I've come and where I'm going. God has really been showing out in my life, so much that it has been unbelievable. I have big surprise that I would love to disclose now but it's too early.
I think everyone should try God out, he's the bomb.com. I've learned to put ALL my trust in him and only him and he has proven himself trustworthy. I talk to God all the time, we have conversations all the time. He's just all around awesome. We're in the first month of 2012 and God has done bigger things for me than what I wanted for myself. Talk about dreaming big, God was dreaming bigger than me. I have high expectations for myself and God gives me the power to obtain more and do more. I'm still pinching myself to see if it's really real. Then of course, as a human being, I get nervous saying okay God, I'm kinda scared because I don't feel that I can handle THAT just yet. You guys will know what THAT is in a few weeks. I keep telling myself, God told me I can have anything I ask for and more as long as I'm obedient and that I have been.
Point of this post: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5). He separates the "impossible" and makes it "I'm Possible." We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Phillippians 4:13) He's the best. Try him out and if you don't like him, the devil will always take you back. He's trying to win souls too. One of my favorite quotes, "The road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn" -Unknown

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! WELCOME 2011 WITH OPEN ARMS!!!
Happy New Year to all my readers!!!
What are your new year resolutions? Do you have any? Did you keep up with the ones from 2010?
Well, well, well....I don't have any new year resolutions. Why? If you may ask, I don't feel the need to have any as I'm working towards being a better Makeva, better mother, better fiance, umm....yeah I'm engaged now! Better friend, better EVERYTHING! This will not go on only for the new year but I will strive for this each and everyday.
2010 was good to me. Goodbye 2010, it was nice knowing you. You brought me lots of learning experiences and I appreciate them all. 2011, we have a lot to accomplish and the time to start is now! I'm ready!
Happy New Year to you all! I wish you a very prosperous new year and remember, the only thing that comes to a sleeper is a dream; therefore, if you want something, go get it! Point blank period! No time for excuses.

Pardon Me As I Dream

Is Walt Disney World the only place where dreams come true? I think not. So if you don't mind, pardon me as I dream and I'm dreaming with my eyes wide open. *clears throat* Yes, I have it all outlined.
Someone asked me, why did I name my organization "Makeva Harold Foundation, Inc."
